Sharon O’Brien is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Applied Language and Intercultural Studies, Dublin City University. She is also a Funded Investigator in the Science Foundation Ireland funded research centre, Adapt, and was Director of the Centre for Translation and Textual Studies at DCU. Her research interests include translator-computer interaction, localisation, cognitive ergonomics in translation, translation quality assessment and translation in crisis scenarios.
Patrick Cadwell is a Lecturer in Translation Studies in the School of Applied Language and Intercultural Studies, Dublin City University. In addition, he is a member of the Centre for Translation and Textual Studies (www.ctts.dcu.ie) and the cross-institutional research centre Adapt (adaptcentre.ie). His research interests include the sociology of translation, the human experience of translation technology, and workplace-based studies of translation activities. He previously worked as a translator in the JA>EN language pair.
